2025 Oxbridge Students China Tour successfully concluded

In April 2025, the launching ceremony of the "China-UK Youth Cultural Exchange Camp: 2025 Oxbridge Students China Tour" was successfully held at the Affiliated Middle School of Beijing Normal University, sponsored by the Association of Education and Technology and co-organized by First Landing Education (FLE) and Beijing Android Century Education Technology Co., Ltd. From April 14 to 20, eight student representatives jointly selected by Oxford University and Cambridge University carried out a week-long educational exchange and cultural experience in China. This event has attracted enthusiastic attention from multiple departments and basic education colleagues in China and the UK.
Since its launch in 2016, the "Oxbridge Students China Tour" has been successfully held for six sessions. The project has held more than 100 theme activities such as academic lectures and cultural experiences in more than ten key cities across the country, and has developed into a benchmark international exchange project, effectively promoting the mutual learning of educational concepts and the connection of innovative resources. This year's event focused on 13 schools in Beijing and Shenzhen. The influence of the event continued to increase, winning high recognition from all walks of life.
Launching ceremony
At the launch ceremony on April 14, the main organizers sincerely invited Mr. Yu Changxue, Director of the Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Wang Liping, Principal of the Affiliated High School of Beijing Normal University, Ms. Vicky Henry, Counselor of the British Embassy in China and the British Department of Commerce, Mr. George Pippas, Honorary Chairman of the British Education Technology Association (online), Ms. Wang Jianyan, Chief Inspector of Shenyang Municipal Government and Director of the Education Supervision Office of the Municipal Government and Chief Inspector of the Municipal Education Bureau, Mr. Ren Weidong, Principal of Beijing No. 80 High School, Mr. Duncan Reith, Principal of St. Clare’s Oxford, UK (online), Mr. Xiong Yongchang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Principal of Beijing No. 101 High School, Mr. Cheng Xuejun, Principal of the Branch of the Affiliated High School of Beijing Jiaotong University, Mr. Qi Zhenjun of Fangcaodi International School in Chaoyang District, Beijing, and school leaders from more than 80 primary and secondary schools across the country to attend the meeting.
The event kicked off with the performance of "Dancing Shadows" by students from the Jinfan Club of the Normal University Affiliated High School. Principal Wang Liping, Director Yu Changxue, Mr. George Pippas, and Ms. Vicky Henry gave opening speeches respectively. In the keynote speech session, Principal Ren Weidong, Principal Duncan Reith, and Vice Principal Cheng Li shared with the guests on "Future Talent Training Strategies under the Background of Global Technological Changes" and "Internationalization Practice and Inspiration for the Development of Innovative Talents". Witnessed by educators from all walks of life, the guest representatives and Oxford and Cambridge student representatives came to the launch platform together. Amid the warm applause of the audience, the "2025 Oxbridge Students China Tour" officially set sail.

Over a five-day period, the eight students visited 13 primary and secondary schools to deepen mutual learning in education between China and the UK through academic dialogue, cultural experience, and practical exploration, and to write a new chapter in the cultural exchanges between the two countries.

During this event, Oxford and Cambridge students not only experienced the education model with Chinese characteristics in depth, but also interacted with energetic Chinese students. They felt the profound heritage and unique charm of Chinese culture by experiencing tea ceremony, incense making, Peking Opera, paper cutting, pottery, calligraphy and other Chinese cultures.
Meet FLE
On the morning of April 19, Oxford and Cambridge students came to the FLE China office to review the event with the FLE China project team. Ms. Wu Yinxia, Executive Chairman of the British Education Technology Association in China, attended the event and personally issued project certificates to the students. During the event, the students shared their gains and insights from the lecture tour and put forward suggestions on how to deepen exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and British youth. Finally, the two sides exchanged commemorative gifts.
Day Tour
On April 20, some colleagues from the FLE China Office led the students to visit the Mutianyu Great Wall. During the trip, the students not only enjoyed the magnificent mountain scenery, but also personally felt the profound history of Chinese civilization carried by this thousand-year-old monument. By touching the bricks and stones of the wall, they truly experienced the eternal charm of the Great Wall as a miracle of human architecture.
